Route a wireless charger's power lead around your gaming desk, keep connections accessible and test the layout before fastening cables in place.

A wireless phone charger changes the last connection in your desk setup: you set the phone down instead of plugging a lead into it. The charger itself still needs power. Good cable management gives that lead a route that stays clear of the keyboard and mouse while leaving the connector accessible.
Start with the location of the phone, then work backward to the power source. Buying clips first can leave you organizing a route that does not suit the way you use the desk.
Choose the phone's home first
Put your phone where you naturally reach for it. Try picking it up while seated and setting it down without looking away from your screen for long. Avoid a position that requires reaching across exposed model details or moving the keyboard.
Use the charger's listed footprint to check that this position has enough room. The small desk fit guide uses paper templates so you can check the layout without having the charger in hand.
Once the location feels workable, inspect which direction its power connector faces. A lead that exits toward the monitor may follow the back of the desk neatly; one that faces an obstacle may need a different orientation.
Match the power connection to the exact model
The shape of the port tells you where a cable connects, but it does not establish the required electrical supply. Check the charger documentation before choosing an adapter or replacement lead.
The Air Force Command HQ listing specifies 12V DC input. Service Depot uses a USB-C power port. Neither listing confirms an included adapter or cable, so do not plan around an assumed accessory bundle. Our power adapter guide explains the details to verify.
Apple's iPhone charging instructions also direct users to the supplied or manufacturer-recommended adapter. Follow the instructions for your particular charger rather than borrowing a recommendation written for another accessory. Apple's wireless charging instructions
Build a route you can change
With equipment disconnected as appropriate, lay the cable along the proposed route before attaching any clips. Work through each section:
| Part of the route | What to check |
|---|---|
| At the charger | The plug seats naturally and remains reachable |
| Around the monitor base | The cable avoids the mouse area and movable controls |
| Along the desk edge | The lead stays clear of drawers, hinges and chair movement |
| At the power source | You can identify the adapter and reach its connection |
Reusable ties can group related leads without permanently joining them. A clip can keep a single lead from slipping behind the desk. Choose fixings that suit the desk surface and cable dimensions, following their own installation instructions. Test an adhesive location according to the manufacturer's guidance before committing it to a visible finish.
Leave a manageable amount of slack where you need to move or disconnect equipment. Do not fasten a cable so tightly that the connector carries the pull when you adjust the device.
Account for things that move
If your desk changes height, test the proposed route through its normal range before fastening it. Check that leads do not pull at a connection or become caught beneath moving parts. Do the same for a monitor arm or a keyboard tray if the route passes nearby.
You also need enough access to move the charger for a routine desk clean or to read its label. A cable arrangement that looks seamless but makes every small adjustment difficult is likely to be undone later.
Keep one spare connection where it is useful
You may still want a wired charging lead for travel, a device that does not support wireless charging, or times when you prefer a cable. Give that lead a deliberate storage spot rather than leaving it stretched across the desk alongside the wireless charger.
When you finish, sit down and use the setup: move the mouse, open a drawer, take the phone and replace it. Then check the connections again. For model-specific power questions, send the charger name and the adapter's label details through Customer Help. A tidy route should make the equipment easier to use and identify.
