Does Your Phone Support Wireless Charging? How to Check

Find your phone's exact model, open its manufacturer's specifications and look for an explicit wireless-charging entry. A brand name, USB-C port or magnetic case is not enough to answer the question. After confirming the phone's capability, check the charger and case as a separate combination.
This takes a little longer than reading a generic compatibility list, but it gives you information you can use when choosing any charger or asking for support.
Identify the model before searching
Use the phone's device-information screen, original packaging or order record to record the full model name and model number. Include suffixes such as Pro, Plus, Fold or a letter-series designation. Menus differ by manufacturer and software version, so use the brand's help page if you cannot locate this information.
You do not need to share an IMEI, serial number, account password or other private identifier to ask whether a phone model supports wireless charging. The public model name and model code are the useful starting details.
Search the manufacturer's site for that exact model plus “technical specifications.” On Google's Pixel hardware specifications page, for example, devices have separate entries and a battery-and-charging section. Read the entry for your own device and its footnotes rather than borrowing the charging claim from the newest phone on the page.
Read the charging entry carefully
Look for a named wireless-charging standard, a stated wireless capability or a clear description of the accessories required. Keep any conditions next to the claim. A maximum rate tied to one accessory is not automatically the rate available from every pad or stand.
| Wording or feature you find | What it establishes | What remains to check |
|---|---|---|
| An explicit wireless-charging specification | The phone has a stated wireless capability | Supported charger system and any conditions |
| A USB-C charging port | A wired connection is available | Whether wireless charging is supported separately |
| A magnetic case or ring | An attachment feature is present | Phone charging hardware and accessory compatibility |
| A maximum wireless wattage | A capability under stated conditions | Required charger, adapter and real-use conditions |
| A photo of the phone on a charging pad | A marketing or illustration context | The actual specification and model match |
If the official specification does not settle the question, ask the manufacturer. Do not treat silence as confirmation or buy a charger simply to discover whether the hardware exists.
Check the phone and charger together
A phone supporting wireless charging is the first part of the decision. The selected charger must also be suitable. Apple's MagSafe guidance distinguishes between supported MagSafe models and other Qi-compatible devices, with different power and charging behavior. That is a useful reminder to read the conditions for the exact pairing. Apple's MagSafe guidance
For certified products, the WPC product database provides a place to verify the manufacturer's model record. A familiar brand name or a seller's broad “wireless” description does not replace that record. Our charging standards guide explains what to compare.
Include the case in your everyday setup
Write down the case make and model, plus any attached wallet, grip or plate. Compatibility information about a bare phone does not answer whether it will sit correctly with all those items attached. You can then consult the instructions for the case and charger rather than guessing from appearance. See wireless charging through a case for the next checks.
Before contacting a seller, prepare this short note:
- Phone: full name and public model code.
- Official specification: the page and wireless-charging entry you found.
- Case: make, model and attached accessories.
- Charger: exact model you are considering.
- Power supply: what you intend to use, if already known.
Applying the check to Desk Chargers
Our decorative chargers require a compatible phone, but we do not publish a universal phone-compatibility guarantee or a complete tested-device list. The desktop charger guide covers the model dimensions and power questions. Send your phone-and-case details through Customer Help before choosing a unit. That gives us a specific setup to discuss instead of assuming that all phones from one brand behave alike.
