Keeping a decorative charger tidy starts with the space around it: leave the phone's landing area clear, keep drinks elsewhere and make the power connection accessible. Before cleaning the charger itself, remove the phone, disconnect power and check the care instructions for that exact model.
Desk Chargers has not confirmed a cleaning-liquid, solvent or water-resistance specification for either product. This guide therefore focuses on prevention, external checks and the information to confirm before treating a surface. A cleaning method suitable for your phone or another charger may not suit a model's finish, joints or decorative details.
Give the charger a clear working area
A model can gradually become a shelf for keys, receipts and small desk items. Give those things a separate home. The charging platform should be easy to see, and you should be able to pick up the phone without catching the power cable or reaching through a display.
Use a simple desk check:
- Keep the intended phone position clear when the charger is not in use.
- Leave access to the power connection so you can disconnect it without pulling across the model.
- Keep drink containers away from the charger and its power accessories.
- Route loose leads away from the radar, arm and other exposed details.
Our charger placement guide can help if the current location makes these tasks awkward. A reachable position makes routine checks easier than a crowded corner behind a monitor.
Inspect before attempting to clean
With the phone removed and power disconnected, look for dust, loose items, a trapped cable or visible damage. Inspection does not require opening the housing, pushing a tool into a port or moving a joint beyond its normal position.
The Air Force Command HQ has a multicolor 3D-printed plastic housing and an exposed radar. The Service Depot has a manually posable arm. Neither feature should be treated as a handle for picking up the unit, and “posable” does not mean a joint needs lubrication.
If you see a loose part, a damaged connector or a spill near the power connection, stop before reconnecting power. Describe the situation to support rather than treating cleaning as a repair.
Match the cleaning method to the actual surface
The important distinction is between a confirmed care instruction and a guess based on how a material looks. A printed housing can include finishes and details that are not identified by a photograph.
| What you want to clean | What to confirm first |
|---|---|
| Flat charging platform | Approved cleaning method and any finish restrictions |
| Printed exterior | Whether the proposed cloth or cleaning product is suitable |
| Radar or arm details | Permitted handling and whether any maintenance is required |
| A port or control | Manufacturer guidance; do not probe or disassemble it |
Do not apply a cleaning liquid, spray, solvent or joint lubricant while that information is unknown. Avoid borrowing instructions for a different brand's charger simply because both charge wirelessly.
Make the next check easier
After moving items around the desk, check that the power lead is easy to identify and the phone still has its intended space. Keep the charger's instructions and accessory information together. If you use different adapters around the desk, label which one is confirmed for this charger rather than choosing by connector shape later.
There is no published Desk Chargers cleaning interval to follow. Inspect the area when you notice accumulated dust, a spill nearby or a change in the setup, and use the confirmed care procedure when cleaning is needed.
For model-specific guidance, contact Customer Help with the product name, a clear photo of the affected area and the cleaning product or method you were considering. Those details let support answer the actual care question without guessing about the surface.
